Design and Physical Attributes

When talking about design, it becomes quite challenging for anyone to differentiate between these two latest smartwatch devices. On the one hand, the Galaxy Watch 3 comes with a beautiful and timeless appearance, which will attract the adults more. Conversely, the Vivoactive 4s features a stylish and sporty look, which is bound to mesmerize the teenagers.

So, let’s move on and compare some other aspects as well. These two models go toe-to-toe in terms of sizing options as well. The Galaxy Watch 3 is currently available in two sizing options, which are 41mm and 45mm. On the other hand, the Vivoactive 4s comes with two variants of 40mm and 45mm.

Like the sizing options, the Galaxy Watch 3 comes with two differently-sized screens as well. The smaller version comes with a 1.2-inch display while the latter boasts a 1.4-inch one. Nevertheless, unlike its rival counterpart, the Vivoactive 4s features only a single variant in this aspect (1.3-inch).

To protect its display, Samsung has included the coveted Gorilla Glass 3 protection on it. Nevertheless, the model from Garmin does not really feature any shielding components. If you want to, then you can buy one separately and install it upon your device.

However, the displays of each product are both dust and water-resistant. Anyways, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 features a Super-AMOLED display, which offers a clear and brilliant view both on the indoors and outdoors. Nevertheless, the 4s features a transflective MIP display, which does look decent under the sun; however, it fails to do so in the interiors.

Only comparing designs isn’t going to help us in deciding the winner of the virtual battle of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 vs Vivoactive 4. So, here, we are going to have a look at their health tracking features as well. Let’s get started with it!

All-in-all, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 comes with 40 different types of in-built exercise trackers. It also has an auto-detection feature and, thus, can easily detect around seven of them after you have started working out.

There is a voice activation system available in the Galaxy Watch 3 as well.

Before starting a workout schedule, you will have to say it on the speaker of the watch and, it’ll promptly begin its tracking duty. However, as per reports, the Vivoactive 4s do not really feature the voice detection module at all.

Each of the devices comes with efficient GPS, which can help you to track your records and pathway. Also, they are both water (IP68) and dust-resistant as well. So, in terms of activity tracking, they offer quite similar performance, to say the least.

Blood Oxygen Tracker

In the segment of our Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Garmin Vivoactive 4 comparison write-up, we are going to talk about the blood oxygen tracker feature. It is needless to say this particular component is available in each of the products. But are they efficient enough?

Well, the detection capability of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is quite decent. According to many, it does provide accurate results. However, Samsung still has warned the users not to use it as a classified medical data. Due to this reason, this data won’t be available in many countries.

The same can be said about the Garmin Vivoactive 4s as well. However, in a way, this device offers a much more detailed and accurate data. But still, it is not recommended to use it for medical purposes. Moreover, it does not restrict users from using it, like Samsung.

However, you shouldn’t really expect less from the Garmin Vivoactive 4s as well. If you connect your device to the IQ Store, then you can download all the songs from other third-party apps, like Spotify, and listen to them.

And, if you do buy a wireless headphone or earbuds separately, then you would not have to bring your phone every time you go out. Besides, you can also access calls, reply texts, get notifications, and do a lot of other things as well.

Pricing

So, as stated before, each of the devices comes with many features that can help you do your job decently. However, in some segments, they are quite different than one another. Due to this reason, their pricing strategy is pretty much distinctive as well.

As the Samsung smartwatch is deliberately a little bit better and advanced than Vivoactive 4s, it comes with a rather expensive price tag. In essence, it costs a little bit under USD 500. However, if you do compare it with its features, then the price does seem viable.

Anyways, on the other hand, the Vivoactive 4s only costs around USD 290, which is a lot less than its rival. So, if you are looking for an affordable yet efficient model, then choosing this one over the Samsung calorie tracking watch does make sense.

Winner: Garmin Vivoactive 4s

Conclusion

So, let’s get back to the question again. Which one are you going to choose among the watches? Is it going to be the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 or Vivoactive 4? Well, we would say that it is entirely upon you and your requirements. If you do not have enough budget for your endeavor, then the Vivoactive 4s would be a decent choice for you.

Well, it does miss out on a few advanced features but does pretty well in other aspects. However, features and overall efficiency-wise, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 does seem a lot better than Garmin Vivoactive 4S. But, its price tag can be an issue for you.

However, if we were to choose between these two, then we would rather be patient, accumulate more money, and then go for Samsung’s wearable gadget. Compromising quality over price isn’t really an excellent idea, to say the least.
