As I mentioned, the Huawei GT 3 watch is available in two sizes. At a glance, the GT 3 46 mm resembles the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and the latter looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
The case of this smartwatch is made of stainless steel and is waterproof up to 50 meters. The 46mm model has mechanical bezels marked with time, reminding you about the rotating bezels in Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch 4 Classic.
Whereas the Huawei Watch GT 3 41 mm model comes with a rounded edge digital bezel which same as that of the Galaxy Watch 4.
It also features a rotating crown on the right side of the smartwatch. It allows you to zoom the watch screen and also will enable you to set quick functions.
The 46mm version has a 1.43 inches AMOLED Colour Touchscreen, and the 41mm model features 1.32 inches AMOLED Touchscreen. Both the watches come with 466×466 resolution, which offers excellent visibility outdoors.
The health tracking features of the Huawei GT 3 come with an advanced heart rate monitor that tracks your heart rate 24/7. It also sends irregular heart rate alerts if your heart rate goes above or below the standard limit.
Like its predecessors, the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro, this latest smartwatch also features a continuous blood oxygen level monitoring feature(SpO2). Sleep and female cycle tracking are other great features of this smartwatch.
It also features stress monitoring, but it is not as effective as Fitbit Sense or Fitbit Charge 5. The Fitbit wearables use an EDA sensor for stress monitoring, which is relatively more effective than its rivals.
Fitness Tracking Features
The Huawei GT 3 comes with many advanced health tracking features. If you are looking for a cheap sport-tracking smartwatch, this would be the right choice.
It boasts more than 100+ sports modes to track various indoor and outdoor activities, from Yoga to outdoor cycling. Moreover, it also automatically track multiple activities like cycling, running, etc.
This smartwatch can even give you training advice based on your various metrics such as heart rate, body stress, running metrics, recovery heart rate, and recovery level. This is very useful for beginner athletes who want to start their workouts.
The GT 3 also works with the Huawei Health app which you can install on your smartphone for easy access to various metrics available in the smartwatch.
You can get accurate location information with the Huawei Watch GT 3. It supports not only GPS but also Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. This allows you to acquire more accurate data related to your activity.
Now the Huawei Watch GT 3 offers an offline Route Back Navigation feature. It will help you get back to your starting point if you lose your way while cycling or hiking. This feature is also available on higher-end Garmin Watches, but it costs you more!
The GT 3 comes with a waterproof rating of 5 ATM. This means that this smartwatch is waterproof up to 50 meters and suitable for shallow water swimming.
However, it is not suitable for hot water baths or watersports like scuba diving or deep diving that involves higher water pressure.
The battery life of the Huawei GT 3 is impressive and among the best of its rivals. In regular use, the 46mm version of this watch can last up to 14 days with a single charge, whereas the 41mm variant lasts for seven days on a single charge.
However, the battery drains faster when you use the features like GPS, Bluetooth calling, or music.
The Huawei GT 3 supports reverse charging with compatible Huawei Smartphones. This feature allows you to charge the battery of the smartphone using the phone’s battery. This is a handy feature if you want to save your watch’s battery during your camping or hiking tour.
A similar feature is also available on Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch 4.
The intelligent features of this new smartwatch include 3rd-party app support, Bluetooth calls and messages notifications, weather forecast information, calendar events, alarms, and more.
As a result, you don’t need to grab your smartphone to update smartphone notifications or accept or reject phone calls.
The watch comes with a music playback feature. It can store up to 500 songs. You just need Bluetooth earphones to enjoy the music.
Price and Availability
Starting November 2021, the Huawei Watch GT 3 will be available for purchase.
The GT 3 is more expensive than the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro. The 42 mm and 46 mm versions are anticipated to sell for $288 and $320 respectively.
Alternatives to Huawei Watch GT 3
There is no doubt that the Huawei GT 3 is a fantastic smartwatch. It offers many health and fitness tracking features at an affordable price range(Compared to Galaxy Watch 4 or Fitbit Sense). If you are looking for a more affordable option, you should consider the Fitbit Versa 3.
If you need more health tracking features, go for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 or Fitbit Sense. Both watches offer FDA-validated ECG and many other health-tracking features that the GT 3 doesn’t provide.
The Huawei GT 3 offers many features that can justify its price. It has some advantages over the Apple and Fitbit watches because of its advanced fitness tracking features.
Huawei Watch GT 3 is an excellent smartwatch with many health and fitness tracking features. It shows its advantages over the Apple Watch 4 and Fitbit Versa 3. The easy-to-use interface, simple set of customizable options, and impressive battery life allow you to concentrate on your fitness goals instead of managing the watch. The 100+ sports modes that this watch supports will motivate you to stay fit.
