The company is slowly transitioning from a fitness tracking brand to a smartwatch brand. This change will give other brands tough competition and alternatives to consumers. Design
Both the Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2s come with a circular dial and around that dial is a stainless-steel bezel. The major difference in both the watch is the size, Venu 2 comes with a 45mm dial, meanwhile, the Venu 2s comes with a 40mm dial. Garmin is known for its rugged style approach, but this time, they went with a classic design which gives the watch a premium and stylish look. It comes with a silicone strap with different colors to choose from.
Display
Garmin has added an AMOLED display to its watch for the first time and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, which is a huge upgrade from its predecessor. The Venu 2 rocks a 416×416 pixel display and the Venu 2s comes with a 360×360 pixel resolution. The display on both watches is of high quality and would be a tough one to beat.
Health and Fitness Features
The Garmin Venu 2 series comes with exciting features which provide you with details about vital health stats. It also incorporates fitness and wellness tools that tend to make life healthier.
Both the Garmin watches support the same fitness and health features. Both the watch come with a Heart rate monitoring and recording feature with an abnormal heart rate alert. The smartwatch comes with respiration rate monitoring, Pulse OX Blood oxygen saturation, hydration level, sleep monitoring, relaxation breathing alert, women’s health, and fitness age which tells your body age.
The new advanced sleep tracking is powered by FirstBeat Analytics. There are many other health fitness features such as Body energy monitoring and stress level monitoring which help you to monitor and control your health.
When it comes to fitness features, both the smartwatch come with 25 preloaded sports modes such as running, swimming, cycling, walking, and many more. The smartwatch comes with a safety feature like automatic incident detection.
It houses animated workouts which provide workouts on your hands to learn and practice. The new smartwatch lets you track calories burned, floors climbed, distance traveled, intensity minutes, and many more.
Smart Features
Venu 2 and Venu 2s come with Bluetooth, ANT+, Wi-Fi connectivity options. There is a new feature included in the smartwatches this time known as Connect IQ. It lets you download watch faces, data, widgets, and apps. Both the smartwatch comes with many smart features such as smartphone notification, smartphone music control, calendar, weather, find my phone, find my watch, Garmin Pay, and Text response (rejects phone calls with text). The new watches come with upgraded music storage which provides storage for up to 650 songs.
The new Venu 2 and 2S include almost all the required sensors such as GPS, GLONASS, gyroscope, barometric altimeter, accelerometer, compass, thermometer, ambient light sensor.
Battery
Venu 2 gives a total of 11 days of battery life on smartwatch battery life mode, 2 days on the smartwatch with display ON mode, 22 hrs. on GPS mode only, and 8 hrs. on GPS + Music mode. Venu 2s gives a total of 10 days on smartwatch battery life mode, 2 days on the smartwatch with display ON mode, 19 hrs. on GPS mode only, and 7 hrs. on GPS + Music mode. Both devices support Rapid charging to charge your smartwatch quickly. Garmin claims that you can charge your smartwatch for a day in 10 minutes.
Availability
The Garmin Venu 2 is available in the black and blue color strap with stainless steel bezel. The Garmin Venu 2s are available in black, white, and gray color straps with gold and silver color dials. The Venu 2 weighs 49 g while the Venu 2s weigh 38.2 g.
The Venu 2 comes with a 22mm band, meanwhile, the Venu 2s comes with an 18mm band. Both the smartwatches are compatible with iOS and Android. The new smartwatches come with 5ATM water resistance and offer 200 hours of activity data history. Both watches are available on Garmin’s official site.
