Design and Display
Huawei Band 6 comes with a bigger and wider AMOLED display of 1.47-inch having 194 x 368 pixels resolution. Meanwhile, the Mi Band 6 houses a pill-shaped 1.56-inch AMOLED display sporting 152 x 486 pixels resolution. However, the pixel density of Mi Band 6 stands at 326PPI and Huawei Band 6 gets a bit blurred with 282 Pixel Density.
It’s up to the user preference whether they like broader display or they are comfortable with the pill-shaped displays. The pixel density hardly matters in real-time usage.
Huawei Band 6 measures 43 x 25.4 x 10.99mm. In size and measures 25 grams in weight. Whereas, the Mi Band 6 measures 47.4 x 18.6 x 12.7mm in size and weighs 13 grams. Huawei Band 6 is available in three different colours of Amber Sunrise, Forest Green, and Graphite Black. On the other hand, the I Band 6 is available in several colour options such as Black, White, Orange Brown, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Silver.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 and Huawei Band 6 both carry similar features. But there are some minimal features that may affect your buying decision.
Huawei Band 6 comes with a 6-axis IMU sensor consisting of both the accelerometer and gyroscope for an efficient step counter. It houses an optical heart rate sensor, a SpO2 sensor and supports up to 96 sports modes.
It can precisely monitor blood oxygen level monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking and houses Huawei TruSeen 4.0 which allows monitoring your heart health in a better way.
Other trademarked Huawei features include Huawei TrySleep 2.0, and Huawei TruRelax 2.0 for better sleep monitoring and stress monitoring.
However, the Huawei and 6 support basic smart band features like support for music playback, weather, app notifications, call alerts, weather, camera shutter control, etc. Moreover, its NFC variant can further allow you to pay wireless payments via different supported networks.
On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi Band 6 supports up to 30 exercise modes with the ability to auto-detect outdoor running, walking, outdoor cycling, rowing, treadmill running, and elliptical training.
It further houses a 24 x 7 heart rate sensor, and SpO2 blood oxygen monitor to provide accurate measurements for the respective health metrics. Xiaomi Mi Band 6 also supports PAI – Personal Activity Intelligence for customized health evaluation as it preserves and analyses the data of an individual.
Moreover, it offers Stress monitoring, Female health tracking, and Breath Exercise mode to enhance your well being. A separate sleep monitoring program is also present to keep you informed about sleep quality.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 also come in an NFC variant for tap-to-pay on the go feature. I CHina, the Mi Band 6 ships with Xiao AI assistant, but sans in global variant.
Xiaomi is actively advertising and pushing users for custom watch faces. It even offers around 130+ watch faces for the Mi Band 6. Meanwhile, around 60+ Mi Band 6 watches can be used by a global audience. However, Huawei Band 6 also supports custom watch faces and has a dedicated Face Store for the same.
Sensors and Ratings
Huawei Band 6 comes with an Optical heart sensor, SpO2 monitor, an accelerometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC (in NFC variant). The Xiaomi Mi Band ships with a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, Bluetooth 5.0, NFCPPG Heart Rate Monitor and Sp)2 Blood Oxygen level.
Both the smart bands are quite energy-efficient and can sustain for several days upon a single full charge. To be precise, both the smart bands offer up to 14 days of standby and support magnetic charging. Huawei band 6 can work for a couple of days with just 5 minutes of charging.
Huawei Band 6 comes with a price tag of 216 Yuan which equals $33. It is currently available only in China as a global launch is awaited. The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 standard edition retails for the price of RMB229 which roughly translates to $35. However, the Mi Band 6 NFC variant costs around RMB279 (~$42).
